The Prince, The Princess, and The Attendant

Once upon a time, there were three children. Two of them were royal children from the 2 kingdoms. The 3rd child was a commoner child whose parents worked inside the castles. The children’s names were Calum, Abby, and Caleb.

Everyday Caleb’s parents took him with them to help at the castle. The first time Caleb he went to the castle with his parents he was 5 years old. The castle was big enough to house probably 100 people. The castle was much bigger than his parent’s home in the village.

Caleb’s parents had to go start their shifts. Caleb’s mom was a cook and Caleb’s dad was security for the prince and when other children came over he has to protect them too. Today Caleb followed his dad to the Garden where he saw them for the first time.

The prince of the light kingdom Calum and The princess of the air kingdom Abby were both trying to summon their respective familiars to help them guide them along their paths of magic. Caleb saw this and thought this was amazing. He has never seen anyone do what they are doing before.

This is because only members of royal families have enough mana in their bodies to actually perform magic. Everyone has some mana in their body but nowhere near enough to perform magic like controlling the wind direction or bending sunlight.

“Woah dad what are they doing?” said Caleb pulling on his dad’s coat to get his attention. “The prince and princess are trying to summon creatures that will serve as their guide in their journeys,” said Caleb’s dad his name is Jack. “That’s so cool!” said Caleb amazed by them.

Calum hears a voice he doesn’t recognize and looks over. “Mister Jack there is a strange person beside you look out,” said Calum as there have been assassination attempts and Calum wouldn’t be surprised if this was another one. So Calum runs into a bush and takes Abby with him to try and protect them both.

“Sir Calum it’s fine this is my son,” said Jack gesturing to Caleb who was still in awe of them doing magic. “Oh okay.” said Calum coming out of the bush.” I didn’t know that you had a son mister Jack why haven’t you brought him here before me and Abby could always have another friend” said Calum forgetting that he left Abby in the bush they hid in for a minute

“Stupid Calum you forgot me in the bush,” said Abby coming out of the bush and has leaves in her hair. She walks over to Calum and pushes him “meanie you don’t just leave your best friend in a bush” said Abby pouting. “Now children please all just get along and continue what you were doing it’s really important and remember that soon you will need to pick your attendants and you can’t choose each other it needs to be a person the same age as you,” said Jack trying to stop the children from fighting.

“Dad what’s an attendant?” asked Caleb confused as he is just 5 and doesn’t understand. “Well it’s basically a person who helps us and makes sure that we always do well with our magic.” said Abby “So it’s just a best friend who helps us with our magic,” said Calum smiling brightly

“Oh that’s cool being able to do magic and stuff like that,” said Caleb smiling. “Yep it's the best hey you should come over more often you are a cool person,” said Calum smiling. “I will if my momma or my dad bring me because I'm not old enough to go places on my own yet,” said Caleb smiling back

~timeskip to 12 years later Caleb and Calum are both 17 and Abby is 18~

“CALUM WAKE UP” yelled Caleb into Calum’s ear he might be his best friend and the prince, but he will be king in a few months. “Ughhhhhh five more minutes I'm too sleepy,” said Calum covering himself more with the blankets.

“Do you want me to go get Abby to wake you up she will summon Rai just to get you out of bed” said Caleb holding his clipboard with the stuff that Calum needs to do that day “Nooooooo don’t get Rai and Abby they will mess me up and it will take longer to get ready,” said Calum whining and covers more. “Well then get your royal butt up now, so I don’t have to get them to get you out of bed then,” said Caleb sighing.

“Ugh fine I'm out of bed now,” said Calum rolling out of bed and stands up. Calum has messy bed hair. His PJ shirt is too big for him so it’s falling off his shoulder and wears teddy bear PJ pants they are quite fluffy and warm.

“Now hurry and get ready for the day Prince Calum we have a whole day of stuff to do after you get ready we have breakfast then to magic tutoring with Solaris then lunch and we go into town with Princess Abby as per your request to do some sightseeing in town? And afterward, we will come back here for dinner then get ready for bed and go to sleep.” Said Caleb telling Calum what his schedule for the day is. “Yay I want to get this thing you call street food not sure if its food on the street or what but it sounds interesting,” said Calum with his face pretty much glowing both figuratively and literally. It happens when Calum gets really happy or excited.

“Okay well get ready now before we start to fall behind on the schedule,” said Calum putting on his sunglasses so he doesn’t go blind from looking at Calum. Calum can make people go blind with his powers if he is too happy or excited. Abby can make tornados and hurricanes if she gets really sad or mad which is why they need attendants to make sure that doesn’t happen.

“Remember to calm down a bit before breakfast. You don’t want to blind the person who feeds you” said Caleb before going downstairs to help his mom make breakfast for the prince. They were having fluffy chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream and various toppings. Caleb sets up 2 placemats one for him and one for Calum ever since Calum gets pouty if Caleb just stands and doesn’t eat breakfast with him.

“Caleb I'm ready for the day now,” said Calum walking down the stairs with his clothes changed but his hair was not brushed at all. “Prince Calum you didn’t brush your hair at all though it’s good to see that you have not blinded anyone today so far,” said Calum jokingly about the blinding. “Come here I’ll brush your hair for you since you didn’t. Let me just go get a brush” said Calum going upstairs to get a hairbrush.

Little did Calum know that there was a person that was waiting in Calum’s private bathroom to kidnap Prince Calum so they could have a ransom to return him and live the rest of their life good.

Caleb walks into the bathroom to find a hairbrush for Calum so he looks more presentable when they go into town later. While Calum is looking in a drawer for a brush the kidnapper throws a laundry bag over him believing that Caleb is the prince when he isn’t. The kidnapper throws the actual laundry into the bag too to muffle any sounds and if the open the bag. The Kidnapper takes the bag of Caleb and laundry out through the hidden staff entrance so not many people would see them leaving.

Soon the kidnapper arrives at an abandoned house somewhere far away from the kingdom. The kidnapper takes the laundry bag of actual laundry like socks, shirts, pants, and coats etc… and Caleb in it but the kidnapper thinks that it’s the prince in it and not the attendant/best friend of the prince and he puts the bag in a chair.

He then opens the bag and knocks out who he thinks is the prince and ties him to the chair before letting him wake up to find he is not in the bathroom now.

“Why hello there Prince Calum did you have a nice nap?” asked the kidnapper. “Who in the world are you and second of all I'm not the prince,” said Caleb as he is also blindfolded and can’t see though he can’t see without his glasses that fell off in the bag and are on the ground now

“What? But you were in the prince’s private bathroom? And you weren’t wearing a cleaning person’s uniform? Who the heck did I kidnap them” said the kidnapper pouting and crosses their arms.

“I'm just the person that keeps the prince from oh I don’t know blinding people with his happy brightness,” said Caleb still not able to see or move really. “Oh really? Then maybe I could still use you for something” said the kidnapper smiling evilly.

~Meanwhile back at the castle with Calum~

“How long does it take to find a brush I guess this is a large castle and it can still be confusing even after him living here for like 12 years as my attendant,” said Calum pouting wanting to eat breakfast with Caleb already.

“Hey Calum where is Caleb it’s breakfast time for you both,” said Abby walking up to Calum as she eats a waffle from her chef at her family’s castle. It’s nearby so Abby sometimes just pops on over to hang out and just disrupt Caleb’s schedule

“I don’t know where Caleb is he went upstairs to find a hairbrush for me so he could brush my hair but he hasn’t come back and it has been like 45 minutes I'm getting worried maybe he got lost again or worse! He could’ve found my stash of snacks and is eating all of them now” said Calum now worrying both about Calum and his snack stash.

“Oh my goodness what if he was confused for you again and was kidnapped!” said Abby dropping her waffle and is really worried now “Ah hah so this is why his dad came and installed that tracking device into Caleb’s glasses in the middle of the night when he passed out on the floor from one of my spells,” said Calum thinking back to that one night Caleb was helping Calum out with testing his magic by letting him do spells on him.

“What? Okay nevermind that for now where is the device that we can track Caleb’s glasses on and hopefully Caleb will be with them” said Abby worrying about her friend. “It’s in a drawer in my room in case I ever lose Caleb because I get lost often,” said Calum going with Abby upstairs to his room to get the tracking device.

When they go upstairs a staff member runs around looking for Calum. “Prince Calum! There has been a kidnapping and they left a ransom note!” said a staff member then handing Calum the scroll with a wax seal on it

It said “Bring me 300,000 pounds(money I mean) or the person who makes the prince, not blind people dies! Mwahahahaaaa” it was in cut out paper so couldn’t track the handwriting.

“So Caleb did get kidnapped,” said Calum worrying even more now. “Don’t worry he is fine we will find him with this tracking device in his glasses and find him” said Abby trying to make Calum not worried as much. “Okay you’re right you’re always right. Caleb will hopefully be fine and still want to be my attendant after this still” said Calum still worrying.

“Hey Caleb will be fine don’t you worry your silly little head about it just we will make sure this kidnapper pays for doing this so that they will never do this ever again,” said Abby hugging Calum trying to comfort him. “We should hurry and find Caleb so we can make this kidnapper pay as soon as possible and save Caleb,” said Calum hugging back

Calum gets out of the hug and grabs the tracking device that tracks Caleb’s glasses and Caleb never takes them off except for like sleeping because he is pretty much completely blind without them he has a really powerful prescription. Except the glasses fell off in the laundry bag when Caleb was kidnapped.

“Okay so he is somewhere far from here can we take rai there because Rai is faster than taking a car,” said Calum as Rai is Abby’s familiar and he is a giant messenger pigeon. He likes to eat the crusts of Abby’s sandwiches because he knows that Abby doesn’t like them much and wasting food is bad. Rai also has a human form though so he can be a better tutor for helping Abby with giving her magic lessons.

“Yeah I just need to summon Rai first then where is the garden again,” said Abby ready with summoning powder, a needle and band-aids. Calum nods and takes Abby with him to the garden. He locks the door to the garden when they both get there so no one can come in and bother the summoning circle.

First Abby made a summoning circle with the powder. After that, she pricked her pointer finger with the needle and squeezed out a few drops of blood onto the summoning circle. She then said the spell “Berganza ad auxilium venerant, auxilio opus vestrum et pulchra alas.” spoke Abby in the language of magic (its latin).

A huge puff of smoke suddenly came out of the summoning circle and there was now Rai the giant messenger pigeon. “Hello princess Abby you requested my presence? Even though your magic lessons are tomorrow?” said Rai turning to his human form he wears a nice suit and bows. “Yes we need you to fly me and Calum as fast as possible safely so we can get to this place so we can save our friend/Calum's attendant,” said Abby. “Ah so that’s why you requested my wings specifically you need me to fly okay let me change back into my natural form and you both can get on my back,” said Rai before transforming back into a giant messenger pigeon so Abby and Calum ride on his back for a rescue mission.

They both climb onto Rai’s back. Abby taps the top of Rai’s head telling him that they are both safely on his back. Rai’s flaps his wings and starts flying up in the air. They fly all the way to the place that it says on the tracking device.

“This is the place Rai fly us down and through the roof so we have a cool and epic entrance,” said Abby with an excited sparkle in her eye while being more extreme than necessary. Calum is fully on board with this level of extremeness because Caleb is a super safe person and never lets Calum take fun and potentially very dangerous risks. Rai sighs and dives into the house through the roof. Rai’s feet one was on top of Caleb’s body. It wasn’t pressing on him more it was a foot cage. Only’s Rai’s claws are carefully on the ground to make sure he didn’t hurt anyone in case of landing on anyone.

“KIDNAPPER YOU DID A BAD THING” yelled Calum before he slides down Rai’s back. grabs a pointy stick to use as a makeshift sword even though he could literally blind him from having happy thoughts. “Heh you gonna fight me using that puny stick hah that is stupid,” said the kidnapper laughing. The kidnapper doesn’t realize that princess Abby is there too even if her familiar Rai is there because they are not familiar (hah magic joke) with the air kingdom as they live in the light kingdom even if they have been allies for centuries.

“RAI GET YOUR FOOT AWAY FROM ME YOUR FEET SMELL YOU KNOW THIS,” yelled Caleb already knowing because he has had his face stepped on by Rai before and it smelled bad. “Caleb we are here to rescue you! We just need to fight this person first” said Abby standing up on Rai’s back to get a height advantage of the kidnapper. “Okay but first GET RAI’S FOOT AWAY FROM ME IT SMELLS BAD STILL,” yelled Caleb again. Rai moves his foot off of Caleb so he would stop yelling about that.

“Thank you now I’ll just wait here because I'm still freaking tied up and blindfolded so I can’t help,” said Caleb being pouty because he can’t help. “AAAAHHHH!” yelled Calum as he ran at the kidnapper with his pointy stick. The kidnapper was laughing more because of Caleb yelling about Rai’s feet smelling bad and Calum attacking him with a stick.

Abby rolls her eyes and focuses on her negative emotions to summon a storm cloud specifically a lighting storm. She has rubber gloves and a silver ball. She can use the silver ball to harness the lightning’s energy and make a ball of electricity. If it touches something it will really hurt because you are being shocked by the amount of energy from a lightning bolt.

Abby summons the lightning storm above them all and holds up the silver ball to get all of the shock energy from the lightning. Once she has all of the energy in the silver ball she throws it at the kidnapper hard so it for one shocks him and knocks him out for a bit just enough though so the kidnapper isn’t dead though.

“Caleb are you alright did the kidnapper person do anything to you?” asked Calum rushing to Caleb and unties him. “Yeah I'm fine just a bit of rope burn from being tied up for a couple hours and how in the world did you guys find me,” said Caleb confused as he doesn’t know about the tracking device in his glasses. “Best friend intuition?” said Abby coming down from Rai and to Caleb’s side helping him up

“I doubt that but alright I believe you for the sake of me going to lecture you on the way back to the castle for quite a few reasons” said Caleb standing up and stumbling slightly after sitting down for almost 2 hours and not being allowed to move his legs as they were tied to the chair.

“I know I know let’s just get this person back to the guards and we can let them deal with them,” said Calum picking up the passed out kidnapper person. “Okay back on to Rai’s back and to the garden then,” said Abby helping Caleb on to Rai’s back because Caleb’s legs are asleep. “I'm guessing we missed breakfast and magic lessons. So when we get back after delivering this person who kidnapped me I guess we can go straight to town and look for some street food that you wanted to try this morning Calum because I never got to eat anything today,” said Caleb as they took off and went back to the castle. “YAY food from the streets!” said Calum smiling happily. “Gah Calum! Don’t blind Rai!” said Abby and covers Calum’s glowing. “Hehe sorry about that guys,” said Calum chuckling happy they all together again.
